Georgia Marvin

Georgia is currently a trainer with the Vancouver Hakomi Education Network. She has a consulting practice using the Hakomi Experiential Method to serve the needs of individuals and couples in a private therapeutic setting, and she also introduces Hakomi technology to organizations facing challenges in managing the relationship aspects of business. Having studied with the founder of the Hakomi Method, Ron Kurtz, and having been named by Ron at his death as one of his legacy holders, her intention is to contribute to the development of Hakomi in the international community, and to mentor advanced students in the method.

Angela Davis

Hi, I’m Angela and I’m delighted to be a part of the Vancouver Hakomi teaching team. Some of us have been growing and learning together since 2004! Sharing the learning journey with students, new and old, is a deep privilege for me. As well as being a Hakomi trainer I am also a Right Use of Power teacher and a registered clinical counsellor (RCC). I work both online and in-person where I live in Kamloops with my partner and two orange cats. When I’m not working, I might be found harvesting and preserving food in the summer, reading a good book with a cat on my lap in the winter or maybe sewing up my next creation.

Kenny Askew

Kenny is a Trainer with the Vancouver Hakomi group and has been practicing for over 15 years. He lives on the San Juan Islands in Washington state. He has two daughters and two granddaughters. He is an artist and a carver (his home is a very full gallery of his art). Parkinson’s Disease is taking its toll, but he still loves to participate in the energy that is Hakomi. He has been with Katie Askew (also a Teacher/Trainer/Practitioner, with the Vancouver Hakomi group), the love of his life, for 47+ years and is always amazed how the love just continues to deepen and grow.

Katie Askew

Katie began her dive into Hakomi in 2004, along with her husband, Kenny. She finds tremendous joy working with others as a Certified Hakomi Practitioner, gently bringing the unconscious to the surface in order to make life more fun, easy and meaningful. She delights in sharing the Hakomi method with others through workshops, trainings and informal gatherings. She has been a massage practitioner since 2001 and loves working with the muscles and energy of the body. Connection is easy and important in Katie’s world, whether it is with her family, friends or clients.

Laura Taylor

Hakomi has been part of Laura's life since 2003. Since then it has been a powerful force in her life helping her to move through life with a deeper and more compassionate understanding of herself and others. Laura is a Hakomi teacher and practitioner. She leads the Vancouver Hakomi Education Network's Hakomi Circles (on-line). Laura is also a marine biologist interested in how science can, and should, expand beyond its traditional boundaries and combine with other ways of seeing the world to create a more complete picture.

Susan Dempsey

Susan became a certified Hakomi Practitioner in 2014, and a Trainer in 2019, after studying in Vancouver, the US, Mexico, and Spain. She is forever grateful for the opportunity to study with Ron Kurtz, and many brilliant teachers and trainers. Susan holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and is registered as a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Working in the field for over 25 years, in community and post-secondary settings, she brings a strong intuitive and eclectic approach to her work, incorporating the compassion and wisdom of Hakomi into her psychotherapy practice, teaching, consulting and training.

Annie Rousseau

Hi, I’m Annie. I discovered Hakomi in 2004 and found a deep love for the work from a personal growth perspective, and after a few detours returned to the certification path and became a Practitioner in 2017, a Teacher in 2019 and finally a Trainer in 2023. I am also an Expressive Arts Educator and Consultant and a Trainer and Facilitator of Process Painting with The Painting Experience. And I have worked as a Bereavement Counselor with my local Hospice Society bringing art and Hakomi together in the programs I developed there for clients and volunteers. Now I have an online and in-person counselling practice in my home in Courtenay BC, where I work with both individuals and couples. I also offer Hakomi workshops and circles in my community. I love introducing folks to the Hakomi way of being.
